What is Thidiazuron?
Thidiazuron is a new type of high-efficiency cytokinin used in tissue culture to better promote plant bud differentiation. Low toxicity to humans and animals, suitable for cotton as a defoliant.
The pure product is a white, odorless, tasteless crystalline solid. m.p.210～212.5℃(decomposition)(217℃decomposition), vapor pressure 4×10-9Pa)(25℃). The solubility at 25℃ is: dimethyl sulfoxide>500g/L, dimethylformamide>500g/L, cyclohexanone 21.5g/L, acetone Chemicalbook 8g/L, methanol 4.5g/L, ethyl acetate 0.8 g/L, hexane 6mg/L, insoluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, solubility in water 31mg/L. The partition coefficient is 59 (pH=7.3). It is stable below 200℃; stable to water at room temperature, with a half-life of >24d; in the soil, its half-life is <60d.

Uses
Urea plant growth regulator with cytokinin activity. Mainly used as a defoliant for cotton, but also for defoliating apple trees, grape vines, hibiscus, kidney beans, soybeans, peanuts and other crops. It has obvious inhibitory effect, and the dosage is 0.3～3kg/hm2. For example, the cotton field dosage is 0.5kg/hm2Chemicalbook, and the medicine is used when 50%～60% cotton peach is opened, and the preparation is diluted into 500L/hm2 aqueous solution and sprayed on the plants, the effect of defoliation is 98%. It can also be used to control weeds such as barnyardgrass, dog tooth grass, crabgrass, crocodile grass, creeping wheatgrass, and scrofula. The dosage is 3kg/hm2, and the control effect is nearly 100%.
